The rinsing procedure is carried out under local anesthesia and may first require dilation of the lacrimal openings with an ophthalmic probe. Most often, it is carried out due to poor conductivity of the lacrimal canal - this can lead to the development of pathogenic viruses and bacteria, disruption of the normal functioning of the optic nerve.
