Nasal sanitation using the Proetz fluid displacement method ("Cuckoo") is an ENT procedure called vacuum drainage of the paranasal sinuses using the fluid displacement method.
The procedure is carried out using an electric medical suction device N-003C "MEDICA". Also for rinsing you will need vasoconstrictor drops (drop before the procedure), an antiseptic rinsing solution, and 50 ml syringes.
It is thanks to the rapid movement and pressure of the fluid that the pathological contents of the sinuses move into the nose and are expelled out. To prevent liquid from getting into the mouth, the patient needs to continuously repeat “peek-a-boo.” Hence the name of the procedure – “cuckoo”.
