The device is intended for amplification by air sound. In the K-12S apparatus, the air-sound-conducting telephone of the VTU is used, which is strengthened in the auricle by the aid of an earmould. The device is powered by an element (type AA) with a rated voltage of 1.5 V. The duration of operation from one element to the apparatus is not less than 80 hours.
